Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I wear my own clothes?
Yes, you may wear your own clothing while attending the treatment program. We do ask, however, that you dress modestly. If you have a question about a particular item of clothing, you may ask a staff member. When attending the inpatient program, we ask that you not bring clothing with drawstrings.

Do you take Insurance?
Yes, we are contracted with many insurance plans and make every effort to work with your financial situation. Please call our Admission and Referral Coordinator at 1.800.235.5570 to find out more specifics about how we can work with your insurance.

When are visiting hours?
Visiting hours are:
Monday- Friday 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Saturday 4:00 pm-8:30 pm
Sunday 3:00 pm-8:30 pm

I am coming from out of town, how will I get from the airport to the program?
Please notify us of your flight schedule and we will arrange a town car service to pick you up and transport you to the program. It is beneficial if you provide us with a cell phone number to facilitate this transportation.

Can I use my cell phone?
Yes, you may use your cell phone at designated times; however camera usage is not allowed to protect confidentiality of other clients.

Do I share a room?
Yes, you will share a room with another client in the eating disorder center.

Do you accommodate for vegetarians?
We are culturally sensitive and will make necessary arrangements for those with special dietary needs. We have created specific meal plans for those choosing a vegetarian, vegan, or kosher lifestyle. Our dietitians will work with you to explore the reasons behind these alternative behaviors surrounding food choice.

Do I go to school?
If you are in school, we will assist you in working with your school to obtain individualized packets. There will be designated times in the program for you to complete this work so you will not fall behind in school while in treatment.

Can I exercise?
Exercise depends on your individual plan, decided in coordination with the Medical Doctor, Therapist, and Registered Dietitian. We encourage healthy lifestyle and appropriate exercise; however the amount and type will be determined by our Medical Doctor’s assessment of your medical stability and level of recovery. We want to ensure that we choose an appropriate exercise that will not further compromise your health and recovery.

What should I bring?
 Our Admissions and Referral Coordinator will email or mail you this information prior to your arrival at our program.

What should I expect when I arrive?
When you arrive for admission to the program you will begin by meeting with both a staff member from the eating disorder program and the business office to complete admission paperwork. You will receive an orientation binder, complete forms and have question and answer time. On your first day you will be assigned a Peer Mentor to assist you in becoming part of our recovery community.  We will give you the names of your Individual Therapist, Family Therapist, Dietitian, and Psychiatrist. Within the first 24 hours you will have a physical examination, nutritional assessment, psychiatric assessment, and schedule an appointment with your Individual Therapist.

Can I do laundry?
Yes, if you attend our inpatient program you will have access to our laundry facilities at the hospital.

How do you know how much I should eat?
Upon admission you will fill out a nutritional assessment which the Registered Dietitian will use to complete an individualized meal plan for you based on your unique needs.
 
What is a typical day like?
The inpatient day begins at 6:30 am when you will be awakened for vital signs, showering, and preparing for the day. Your therapist will pick you up at 7:30 am and prepare with you for breakfast, journaling, walk, and a snack.

The partial hospitalization group arrives at 10:45 am and organized groups begin at 11:00 am and continue until 7:00 pm. Lunch and Dinner are considered groups and will be a part of the therapeutic experience.  

Can I go on outings?
The first week you are in the program there will be no outings. Once you enter the second week of the program outings are expected and part of the program for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. If you are admitted to the inpatient program you will be permitted to go on outings as approved by the Medical Doctor, Therapist, and Registered Dietitian.
